Donaldson Torit DFE 3-6 weld fume collector
University maintenance departments must be equipped with all facets of repair equipment to keep all building systems functioning as designed. A regional University updated its welding/metal shop with smoke and fume collection with a Donaldson Torit Model DFE 3-6 cartridge dust collector.
Other system features included:
- A Cincinnati HDBI-180 exhaust fan.
- An inlet spark cooler – The filter elements were protected against cartridge fires caused by sparks.
- Fan outlet silencer – The fan discharge was fitted with a silencer to attenuate fan discharge noise to 70 dBA.
- Electrical controls – a Donaldson Delta P Plus control panel that maintains constant airflow by modulating the fan speed as filters build up collected particulate.
