The Donaldson Torit hopper isolation connector is designed for general combustible dust explosion propagation at the vessel hopper outlet.

Isolation of a deflagration is detailed in NFPA 69 “Standard On Explosion Protection Systems”. Protection of facilities and equipment that are exhausted by air-material separators (Dust Collectors) as well as other process equipment handling combustible dusts requires a connection at the hopper outlet like the Donaldson Torit SDK The passive hopper outlet explosion isolation provides a mechanical barrier to prevent the propagation of flame and burning materials to the surrounding workspace.
