SysTech Design is a provider of industrial ventilation equipment and services that address the need for fans & blowers for process and general ventilation, air pollution control, dust collection, noise attenuation, and explosion protection. SysTech is a company that began in 1985 as a manufacturer’s representative located in Harrisburg, PA. and later moved to Exton, PA. From Exton, we were responsible for Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware.

The type of industrial dust collection you need, as well as the final system design, depends on many factors. These include the collected particulates’ physical and chemical compositions, process exhaust conditions, local and federal regulations, and others. After determining the level of filtration needed, there are two key areas we focus on when reviewing the final system layout. First, as mentioned, the geometry and chemistry of particulate in the air stream which determines the way we configure and select components. The second key factor is keeping particulate in suspension after it is collected and effectively conveying it to the filtration device. Should equipment slowly fail or breakdown, particulate settling in the duct creates potential duct collapse, leaks in the duct, fire and explosion potential, additional static pressure loses with increases in fan horsepower, fan wheel abrasion, and imbalance.

Tackling noise at its source(s) with noise control packages will effectively contain and reduce plant-wide levels. Because almost every in-place noise issue is in a different plant environment or from a specific piece of machinery, each application requires a custom design with an understanding of the surrounding noise sources and building structure. Using standard products, but configuring them in ways to minimize infringement on the application and meeting the attenuation requirements.

Sound attenuation applications include encapsulation of machinery, process enclosures, facility dividers, movable screens, engine housings, compressor/pump/fan enclosures, factory quiet areas, and control rooms. Solving noise issues is what we do.

Industrial facilities and manufacturing processes create dust and dust in an uncontrolled environment are potential explosion hazards. With that understanding, we request that a representative dust sample be tested for all “key” explosivity values. We follow this by collecting data on the existing or new dust collector, silo, or vessel to determine the strength of the structure to withstand an explosion should a catastrophic event occur.

We will forward all information to our equipment manufacturer, who will assess the data, evaluate the alternatives, and recommend the best explosion protection method to employ. Should additional information be required to properly assess the potential for an event and the severity of the event, we will bring in an approved local Dust Hazard Analysis consultant.
